Protect Yourself!
To protect yourself from ticks, you need to read and follow the steps outlined below.
Wear proper attire when in wooded areas, or high grasses.
Use tick repellents when in woods, open fields, or high grasses.
Have daily tick checks through out your body.
Use proper tick removal, (removing the tick from it’s head, not just the body. A common mistake is to remove the tick still leaving remains of the head behind which may still cause damage if not removed with the proper technique.)
Have the basic understanding of a tick’s biology, so you know what you are dealing with when presented with this unique but dangerous insect.
As seen in this picture, removing the tick from it’s head rather then thorax (body) is the proper and most efficient way to make sure no further damage would occur if any.
